Risk Assessment Training Courses

Risk Assessment Training Courses
Risk Assessment is one of the fundamental skills required for safe machinery design. We offer a variety of courses aimed at different audiences. These programs range from a general overview of the process through a detailed exploration of risk assessment tools and their application to industrial machinery.
Introduction to Risk Assessment
This is a top-level introduction to risk assessment concepts. The program is designed to run in 1-1/2 hours.
Risk assessment is a process that, until recently, has been somewhat mysterious to most people. In this presentation the basics of risk assessment as applied to industrial machinery are introduced. Topics covered include:
·         Understanding the difference between Hazards and Risks
·         Tolerable Risk
·         Risk Assessment Methodologies (What-if, PHA, FMEA, FTA…)
·         Analyzing risks using the scoring systems
·         Risk Assessment Standards
Each topic will be introduced by the speaker and supported with data taken from National and International standards. Examples taken from real-life machinery assessments will be used to illustrate the methods.
Who should attend
This short seminar is intended for Engineering Managers, Production Managers, OHS or EHS Managers and others who may need a high level understanding of the risk assessment process without needing to apply the process directly in their work.

Basics of Machinery Risk Assessment
This is an introductory course intended for people who will be applying risk assessment in their daily work. The course runs 1-day.
This course is designed to introduce the basic concepts used in machinery risk assessment. Various methodologies are described and the concepts of risks vs. hazard are discussed.
This course is designed to enable the student to:
·         Understand the difference between Hazards and Risks
·         Understand the concept of Tolerable Risk
·         Recognize some of the various Risk Assessment methods available
·         Understand the subjective nature of Risk Assessment
·         Recognize typical hazards
Who should attend
The course content is designed to be useful to Joint Health and Safety Committee members, OHS / EHS personnel, machinery designers, technicians, technologists and engineers.
Basics of Machinery Risk Assessment Workshop
This course extends the Basics of Machinery Risk Assessment course by adding a 1-day workshop to the program.
The workshop adds practical application of the process to the theory learned. The workshop uses real equipment in your facility as the subject of the risk assessment process to give participants a chance to try the skills they learned in the theory portion of the course.
CIRSMA User Training
This course is intended for new users of the CIRSMA™ Risk Assessment System software.
CIRSMA™ User Training takes the user through the use of each of the modules in the system. Modules include:
·         Risk Assessment System
·         Training Management System
·         Task-Hazard Management System
·         Incident Tracking System
·         Resource Management System
At the end of the course, users will understand
·         How to create and manage a System Resource (machine or equipment)
·         How to create and manage a Risk Assessment for a System Resource
·         How to create and manage Task-Hazard documents
·         How to create and manage personnel records in the Training Management system
·         How to assign training requirements to a System Resource (machine or equipment)
·         How to create, manage and track safety incidents using the Incident Tracking System

CIRSMA™ Safety Management Training
This course is intended for new users of the CIRSMA™ Risk Assessment System software. A risk assessment course is a prerequisite for everyone attending this course.
